Understanding ATV Regulations in Arkansas In Arkansas, the maximum allowable width for a side-by-side (ATV) is 72 inches. This regulation is important for all off-road enthusiasts to keep in mind. Starting in mid-October 2025, the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) and Arkansas Game and Fish (AG&F) plan to add multiple gates throughout the trail system.
